Meet Kate and Ken: Kate's Biography

Kate approaches her profession with the same passion that she founded a Birth Center, trains horses and kayaks. She brings an enthusiasm to her work that is contagious, a positive attitude that delivers results, and an attention to detail that makes for smooth sailing. Her degrees in marketing and psychology give her the tools to facilitate transactions with grace and expertise. Clients come back to her time and again, with 75% of the business being repeat and referral.

Buying raises lots of questions: about property values, appreciation, and choice of investment. With 20 years in Real Estate, and 18 years on Orcas, Kate can share with you a historical perspective, often citing homes that she sold years ago, values then and now.

Moving raises questions about services, schools, community, work and living on an Island. As a long time Islander and mother who raised children here, she can easily address your questions. She has also taught sailing, led kayak trips, taught art and is a successful watercolor artist. She is active in the Garden Club, the Deer Harbor Community Club, the Unitarian Fellowship, and practices yoga and dressage daily.

Kate and Ken live next to a Waterfowl Sanctuary in Deer Harbor, with their three mustangs adopted from the wild, and their Golden Retriever, Cassie. Two of their children and grandson also live on the Island. She keeps her dressage horse, Cody at her friend's dressage barn. She says 'Our lives are simple, intertwined with nature, close to family and involved with community. We are living our Orcas Dream!'
